Picture this

For this project, we were supposed to take pictures of nature and make nature into some awesome shapes. << This one is a Heart made out of wood chips and Haley. This is something Andy might have done because it had wood chips.

The next one is a peace sign out of dandylions.

We also made an outline of a person out of rocks.

We made a star out of shadows.

And the last one is a heart out of grass. This project was a good idea, and I probably would have liked it better if we had more time to actually make something. Andy Goldworthy taught me how to think out side thte box and use materials that aren't generally used for making something.

Sum it all up!

This semester was fun. We did plaster and molded stuff for the masks. We also did wheel throwing, and some other clay stuff. One of my favorite projects was the master study one. I thought I did a pretty good job on it, and it ended up winning 3rd at art fair! I painted a Mondrian piece on the cover of a book. I didn't really like the abstract painting thing when we glued stuff to a canvas. Mine just ended up looking kind of like junk. The lightbulb sculpture was cool. I thought it was good because it didn't take a very long time. My least favorite was twisted fairytale because I did a dumb clock with mice i cut out on it. The wall hanging thing me and Haley made together was amazing! We didn't even plan it, but if you turn it sideways it looks like a face. I liked going to art fair, especially because the big necklace ended up winning 3rd place in the jewelry category. My favorite part of the year was when we did jewelry and I had the Big Necklace Club. They necklaces were a hit. I am planning on taking art next year. I'm definately going to miss this class and the people in it. THE END

Magazine Flower

For this we had to make a sculpture out of magazines or books. I used glue and magazines. I liked what Mrs. Comer showed us so I made a flower like hers, but I had 10 petals. I like this because it didn't take forever and wasn't too hard once you got the hang of it.

Wire and Light bulb

This is my wire and light bulb guy. He has orange shoes and a matching orange bow tie. I like this project because it turned out cute and it was quick. It was hard to get his head to stay on real tight, but I think I managed.

Master study

For the Master study project I chose Mondrian. I painted it on a book to make it 3D.
I liked this project because I like painting. Plus mine turned out looking kind of like the original. I didn't like that i had to wait for each different part to dry before I could do the next, but it was probably worth it.

Abstract texture stuff

I used a canvas and glued down different fabric and string, then painted it all white. It is probably a cool idea, but I don't really like the way my project turned out. It looks like junk. It took a long time to paint the whole thing white because I had to do so many coats.

Twisted Fairy Tales

For twisted fairy tales I made Hickory Dickory Dock. It is twisted because the mouse is a computer mouse. I used a clock foam a button and these sticky squares that was left over from the afterprom committee. I'd say this is really clever. Plus also there is a regular mouse, then a mouse halfway between being a computer mouse, and then also a computer mouse. I liked that I didn't have to make anything out of clay.

Wheel thrown Masterpieces

I really thought I got the hang of wheel throwing at the end of the unit. I mean I even made two bowl inside a bowls and lets just say, they are going to art fair NBD. I kind of liked wheel throwing, but not as much as other stuff. All of my pieces were abstract in this unit. And I would just like to say I did this most f these completely by myself, which is a lot better than last year. So I have to say there was a lot of improvement. Plus also the plate I made was especially good.

Wall Relief

For this Haley and I worked together. It is abstract. It is out of clay. Something funny is that Mrs. Comer noticed it kind of looks like a face when you tilt it to the side, but let me tell you we did not plan that. Must be a funny coincidence.

Masks

For this assignment we made masks. I used plaster, paint, and sparkles. I didn't like this project because it was doing all these steps for no reason and it felt stupid dumb. Plus my mask styck in the mold and it was a mess. I liked using the sparkles.

Artist Reflection

My favorite unit we did in 3D art was jewelry or clay. I really liked the jewelry because I could give it to my friends. Also I liked that I could see how something I make could be used. Also I thought making jewelry was fun. It was fun working with the beads because I could use patterns. My favorite part of jewelry was hemp. I made my friends Sammy and Maddy hemp stuff. Plus I made Orf a big hemp necklace. We had a club it was called BNC. No big deal but Big Necklace club was really cool. We even had a facebook page. But Orf lost his necklace so the club has come to a temporary end. :( I like clay because I'm making a castle. It is pretty nice I guess. Just saying, it was fun to use clay. THE END.
